December is upon us, and with that, I thought I’d share a series of four easy Christmas cocktails & drinks recipes to get you through the season!

This may surprise you, but I love Real Housewives. It’s my guilty pleasure. Please don’t judge me. I also love gardening, goats, cooking, and lots of other wholesome things that just barely make up for my embarrassing love of Real Housewives. One of my favorite housewives is Heather Dubrow because we both share a deep affection for champagne, or as well call it “champs”. I’m sure she got the term from me, I think I used it on twitter once. 

I love all things champagne: champagne cocktails, champagne gummy bears (yes, they exist), champagne vinaigrette (the only way to eat a salad), champagne reduction, and of course, a glass of champagne on a Friday night (sometimes a Monday calls for it too). 

I have quite a rolodex of champagne cocktails that I rotate throughout the seasons. And now that the holidays are here, I’ve been enjoying what I’ve deemed as my staple Christmas cocktail recipe. It includes most of my favorite things: gin, champagne, lemon, and a splash of cranberry juice. 

As far as I’m concerned, Uncle Val’s Botanical Gin is the. only. gin. worth drinking. I received a bottle to do a blog post for A Savvy Lifestyle, and of course gave it a try, that’s when I fell in love with gin. I’m tellin’ you, it’s worth the $50. I know, that’s crazy expensive, but trust.

Do you see the adorable glasses that this cocktail is in? They are my dream glasses from Elsie Green (coincidentally, also my dream shop). They are made of recycled glass from Morocco, and are my new favorite kitchen item; they come in bowls and miniature wine glasses too!

Cranberry, Gin, & Champagne Christmas Cocktail 

  • 1.5 oz. gin (read above)
  • 1 oz. cranberry juice
  • juice from 1 lemon
  • champagne, brut or extra brut

Combine gin, lemon juice, and cranberry juice in a cocktail shaker. Shake well over ice. Pour into a glass and top with champagne. Cheers!

I don’t drink, so I might try my hand at a non-alcoholic one inspired by this!
