DIY Tassel Tote

I have to admit, that I am finally jumping on the tassel train. For awhile, I thought they were ugly, and very trendy, but they seem to be branching into the classic side, so I’ve been giving them a bit of a go.
I had my eye on this tote from Anthropologie, I thought it’d be the perfect beach bag for this summer, but I wasn’t in love with the price. I thought, “hey, why don’t I DIY that?” (I should really get a t-shirt made)… Anyways, my all in for this project was about $45 which is a lot better than $150, and I love the feeling that I get when I wear something I made.
Supplies:
- Straw Tote
- Tassels
- Needle & Thread
Notes: This is the tote I used. But here are some other great options: hoop handles, classic, a touch of sparkle, amazing deal. You’ll need about 20 tassels, here is a great Etsy listing for a set! If you buy extra, stay tuned for a fun bracelet DIY.
Step 1: Make a game plan of where you’re going to place your tassels, then cut some thread and attach it to a needle.
Step 2: Using your needle and thread, attach each tassel in place.
