Use the beauty of nature this autumn to make this easy fall craft! A little paint and a few leaves will turn everyday floor sack towels into beautiful fall kitchen decor!

We’ve had quite a bit of cold weather here on the west coast, but I am holding onto the season, and its last little bit of warmth. I love that we get to experience all four seasons here on the ranch. We have a cold winter, a true spring, a long summer, and a beautiful autumn.

Autumn is my very favorite season. I absolutely love pumpkin spice (donuts!), holiday recipes, and all of the fun fall crafts that come with it. After sharing this 1-ingredient caramel recipe, I thought it would be nice to include a tea towel along with it in a gift basket.

I saw these beautiful stamped towels from Taste of my Place and was inspired to create my own version. These towels are so easy to make, they would be a great gift for kids to make for their teachers or grandmothers for the holidays.

Fall Craft Idea:

DIY Leaf Stamped Tea Towel

  • Flour Sack Towels

  • Fabric Paint in Varying Colors

  • Paint Brush

  • Assorted Leaves

Step 1: Lay a flour sack towel onto a flat surface. Some of the paint may seep through the fabric, so you’ll want to layer some newspaper underneath.

Step 2: Paint the back of one of the leaves, then flip over and press into the fabric. Use your hands to make sure the leaf has been thoroughly pressed (even the stem!), then peel back to reveal the print!

Step 3: Repeat with different leaves and paint colors, then allow to dry. Once dry, iron the towel to set the paint into the fabric.

*Tip – Don’t use a dry/cracking leaves for this project, they will fall apart when you press them into the fabric!
