This recipe for Valentine’s Day brownies is one of my very favorites! Learn how to bake these Valentine’s Day brownies with Zevy Joy.

Valentine’s Day Brownies

It’s Valentine’s Day week, and I have the huge privilege of sharing this Valentine’s Day dessert with you! If you don’t know Annie of Zevy Joy you’re definitely missing out! I could go on and on about how great she is, but I think it’d be better for you to find out for yourself.

She and I have been blogging friends since the two of us started, and I’ve loved watching us grow as we learn the art of ‘blogging’ (just compare the photography from today’s posts to last year’s! What a difference!).

Today she’s bringing us a delicious Valentine’s Day treat that I think would be perfect to make with your kids this year! For more dessert inspiration, check out more of our recipes here!

Hello Boxwood Avenue friends, my name is Annie and I am from Zevy Joy. I am thrilled to be joining you here today and thank you so much Chloe for having me! It has been a while since the last time I visited, when I shared an Orange Ricotta Pound Cake. Today I’m back showing you how to make some festive and delicious Valentine Brownie Bites.

I always get caught up in the fun of cookie decorating/baking during the holidays. Once it is over I find myself looking for reasons to come up with something decorative and sweet. I also love to use what I can easily find in our kitchen. It’s even better to take something simple and make it pretty!

These brownies fit the bill perfectly! I had a store bought mix waiting to be enjoyed in our cupboard. As I much as I love baking and making things from scratch, brownies are the one recipe I just truly never attempt.

The boxed version makes baking for last minute guests or sweet cravings quick and easy!

I loved thinking about these as a Valentine treat or party dessert. You can’t go wrong when chocolate is paired with more chocolate/candy, true?! Plus, they are petite and just the right amount of sweet in a small bite.

Here is how I put these together…

Valentine Brownies

Valentine Brownies

These brownies are the perfect Valentine treat or party dessert. You can’t go wrong when chocolate is paired with more chocolate/candy, right?! Plus, they are petite and just the right amount of sweet in a small bite.

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 45 minutes
Total Time 55 minutes

  • Brownie Mix (with the required ingredients listed on the box)
  • Cookie Cutter Shape (A heart was used for Valentine’s Day)
  • Wilton Candy Melts (I found mine in the baking section of our local craft store and they have a wide variety of colors)
  • Candy and/or sprinkles such as crushed peppermint and different decorative sugars that will be used for the toppings.

  1. To make these sweet treats I baked the brownies in a rectangular glass pan (according to the box instructions).
  2. Using a rectangular shaped pan allowed the mix to spread out thinner than a normal brownie, which made them easy to cut with a cookie cutter.
  3. Once baked, allow to cool and flip upside down onto wax paper or a silicon mat (as shown).
  4. Carefully cut out as many shapes from the brownie bake as possible.
  5. Now warm your candy melts (according to the directions on the packaging) and gently turn the brownie bite upside down until the top half is covered.
  6. Before the candy hardens, carefully flip the candy dipped side into the topping of your choice. You could also sprinkle by hand.
  7. Let the candy harden and then set out to serve.

Valentine’s Day Brownie Decorating Ideas

There are so many fun ways to decorate brownies for Valentine’s day! I love adding a pop of color with frosting and sprinkles, but you can keep them simple with simply using a heart shaped cookie cutter! What are your favorite ways to decorate brownies?
