Welcome 2019: Resolutions & Reflection
Hello 2019, I am sure happy to see you!
The first blog post of 2019…here we go!! The 2018 holiday season really kicked my butt! I worked on more blog posts, videos, and projects than ever before. I loved each and every moment of it, but it was a marathon of work. Then, the day after Christmas I packed up my bags and headed to London! It was a fabulous way to ring in the new year and to take a little break from work.
Now that the dust has settled, I am finding myself at a loss for what to do next? My life seemed to be consumed by holiday ideas for so long, that I am feeling a little deflated creatively. There were a few days where I felt really discouraged, wondering…what had I accomplished in 2018?
Then I remembered all of the wonderful things I got to experience in 2018 – being on the cover of The Inspired Home, welcoming Country Home Magazine to our house, the opening of our shop, and a few other things I still am not able to talk about yet! I think there are many times where we all feel a little discouraged, but it’s important to step back and take note of our accomplishments! They should be celebrated and remembered, because they are often what helps us get through the valleys.
I am one that loves a resolution. It feels like a fresh clean slate to start off the new year with positive intentions and goals.
This year I am holding myself to exercising 3 times per week until mid March. I am hoping this will continue throughout the year, but if I push it past March, it really becomes too daunting to me! I am following the BBG program, which is the easiest thing for me because I can access it on my phone at all times. I love that the exercises are only 30 minutes long, plus the results are truly exceptional! I have used this program in the past and have been very happy with it!
I’d also like to continue to focus on growing Boxwood Avenue, in whichever direction that may be. I’m hoping to increase my SEO numbers, which is an art as much as a science.
This year I am also shifting the blog focus to share more day-to-day living tips & tricks. I have found that you all seem to love it most when I share simple ideas that make life a little easier. I’ve got a few posts planned already, and am very excited to share them with you!
On a personal note, I’m doing my best to go to bed earlier, and wake up earlier! My goal is to spend the first thirty minutes of my morning reading through my 2019 devotional. This always sets my day up for success. My friend Kristen (wonder of Thimblepress) talked about how she dedicates her first hour or two to God, and she has inspired me to dedicate my mornings to him as well. I believe doing so will help me stay focused on where my identity should be coming from, and where my goals should be stemming from!
I would like to say a wholehearted thank you to those of you that continue to visit and read the blog. Your support and encouragement means so much to me.
What are some of your resolutions or intentions for 2019? I wish you a happy new year!
