Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 2 cups blueberries
  • 1 cup frozen cauliflower
  • 1.5 cups frozen spinach or kale
  • 1/4 cup coconut flakes
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter
  • 1 tablespoon flax
  • 2 scoops protein powder
  • Stevia if desired

Instructions

  • Layer the ingredients in a high speed blender in order starting from the top (so that the liquid is at the base of the blender). Blend on high until the smoothie is at your desired consistency.

Blend in more water as needed (I typically need to add about 2 more cups of water).

This blueberry smoothie recipe makes 2 large smoothies (perfect for breakfast), or 4 small snack sized smoothies. I like to enjoy a large smoothie for breakfast, and usually pour the rest of the smoothie into a large mason jar for the following day. In the refrigerator, the smoothie will separate, simply shake before enjoying!

Notes

Be sure to use unsweetened almond milk, you may also opt for a coconut milk or your favorite nut milk.
The almond butter serves as a fat, you can use any fat you like such as coconut butter etc...
Choose any berries you like. Blueberries are my favorite, but strawberries work well too!
I love primal kitchen protein powder, but you may opt for any variety you prefer!
