I've ventured into the land of no return: all natural cleaning. DIY all natural cleaning to be exact.
Normal household cleaners are a Pandora's box of chemicals and things that will most certainly kill. Once you find out about it, you really can't go back.
I haven't cut myself off cold turkey - there's still Shout in my laundry room, and I still really like to bleach my sheets, but I have ditched countertop spray & normal dish soap.
One of the most convincing things about switching to DIY all-natural and safe cleaning products is the price tag. Borax & Castile soap are pennies on the dollar compared to what I was using before.

Make Your Own All-Natural & Safe Cleaning Products
Castile Soap: Castile soap is derived from plant based oils and is safe for your body, your home, and your pets. I love the rose scent in particular, and use it for dishes, mopping, and gentle cleaning. This is an amazing list of dilution suggestions & uses (bookmarked!).
Baking Soda: A natural deodorizer and gentle abrasive, baking soda is a multipurpose ingredient for things like soft scrubs, countertop cleansers, and so much more. I like to mix a big batch of baking soda with essential oils and leave in an open container. This works as a natural air freshener and comes in handy when I need to use baking soda to clean.
Borax: The 20 mule team that does it all! Dissolve Borax in hot water and you've got an all purpose cleaning solution for counters, baseboards, moulding, stain treatment, and a lot more. Here's a great list of uses!
Essential Oils: I've become a huge fan of all essential oils for natural cleaning & healing. Safe enough to eat, they are great to add to DIY cleaning products as a natural scent!
Vinegar: For less than $5, vinegar is the powerhouse cleaner. When diluted, it works to remove mineral buildup, clean glass (including windows), disinfect counters (may be too harsh for marble or granite), and clean bathrooms.
Lemons: Lemons are nature's little sponges! I love cutting lemons in half, and dipping them in salt to form an exfoliating sponge to tacking pots & pans and tarnished copper.
