We hope you had a wonderful weekend!! I am gearing up for a very busy week - I get to head to NYC this week to meet the editors of @betterhomesandgardens as a #bhgstylemaker 😱 I can’t believe it because I’ve never been to NYC and being named a Style Maker by BHG is a huge honor. Last night I dreamt that I brought the goats with me to the big apple 🗽🐐. In my dream I got in trouble for leaving them in the hotel room unattended 🤷🏼‍♀️ but Truffles just wanted to stay in for some room service! I have dreams about the goats more often than not, and they are typically very ridiculous. 🤪👩🏼‍🌾🐐🐐🐐🐐
When I first moved to the ranch I’d never been around cattle. I grew up riding English and still can’t quite figure out what all of the strings on a western saddle are for. Over the past couple of years I’ve learned a lot, about the food industry, and about the cowboy community. There is so much that is misunderstood about what is & isn’t healthy for us when talking about meat. I hope that in between inspiring pictures I can share some of what I’ve learned with you so that you can make informed decisions about your food. If I had to pick one lesson to share: it’s to know your farmer. Whether an animal was treated with antibiotics or not or if it ate grain or not is really irrelevant if you can support a local farmer in their daily job of providing food for your family and neighbors. This weekend I am excited to be taking over @californiafarmsandranches Instagram account sharing photos and stories from our ranch, I hope you’ll follow along!
