Fall Decorating Ideas: Fall Porch Decor
20 Simple ideas for decorating your front porch this fall! Everything from pumpkins to mums, you will be inspired!
This year I used apples, apples, and more apples to decorate our porch for fall. We had so many apples that it only felt right to gather some up and put them on the porch. As they pass their prime, I will probably swap them out for mini pumpkins or falling leaves, but for now, they’re the perfect fall addition to our porch.
Our porch doesn’t get much sunlight, and truthfully, I’m not a huge fan of mums, so putting plants out doesn’t really make much sense for us. Instead, I use buckets and jars to fill with seasonal things like apples, leaves, and branches. This also makes for quite a low maintenance fall porch which is great.
The garland is the same garland that I used last year from Michaels. To dress it up - I cut small bits of live branches and wove them into the faux leaves on the garland. This added a bit of life and made the garland look a bit more authentic. When shopping for things like garlands, I always try to pick something that incorporates real natural elements like gourds or pine cones!
If using baskets and buckets as decor, fill them up 3/4 of the way with recycled styrofoam or cardboard first. Then fill the top with apples, pumpkins, or leaves! This will make the bucket easy to move!
I purchased this cute little bistro set from Ikea. It’s actually the first thing I’ve ever bought from Ikea, can you believe it? I still have yet to visit one of their stores, but after seeing these chairs at one of my girlfriend’s houses, I was completely smitten! The entire set was only $50, and every time I walk by, I think, “that’s the best $50 I’ve ever spent!” Of course, I’ve probably said that about a lot of things, but it really is a great little set!
