As we begin to deck the halls, here are some tips for keeping things simple and festive as you decorate for Christmas!

I’ve started to bring out a little bit of holiday decor, and am slowly getting into the spirit! I love sharing Farmhouse Christmas decorating ideas throughout the season and can’t wait to really decorate for the holiday!

My farmhouse Christmas kitchen from last year is still a favorite of mine, I am not sure if I will do much differently this year!

from last year…

As we begin to deck the halls, here are some tips for keeping things simple and festive as you decorate for Christmas!

This year I have really begun to sway a little more contemporary than I have in the past. I thought I would share some tips for a minimalist Christmas decorating! Are you more minimalist or do you love the glitz and glam of Christmas decor?

A Minimalist Approach to Christmas Decorating

Add festive textiles:

One of the first things I do for any season, is swap out textiles for something more seasonal. During the holidays, I find that rich Earthy tones with pops of green and red are the perfect festive touch in my home!

Deck the halls with greenery:

To instantly add holiday cheer without feeling like you’re drowning in Santa themed decor, reach for greenery!

We used to be able to leave fresh greenery in the house for nearly a month, but since we switched heating systems, fresh greenery dries out too quickly for me to use it indoors. I’ve found a few wonderful options that look real.

I love this wreath and think this garland is the perfect touch (inexpensive too!).

Use organic elements:

Whenever I start decorating for a holiday, I always try to stick with organic elements like metal, wood, and foliage. While Christmas is a little more glitz than any other holiday, I still stay pretty true to this method.

I find that I am most drawn to the beauty of nature and love being able to integrate that into my decorating. Whenever I can find vintage Christmas decor, or use natural elements, I am always happiest!
