Fine Art in the Kitchen

Lately, I’ve been seeing quite a few spaces with fine art placed in the kitchen. Generally, kitchen designs shy away from thing vulnerable to humidity such as hardwood floors and artwork – but these designs are too beautiful to follow the rules.

I love seeing interesting designs with unique paint colors, like a dark and moody room, black painted bathroom, or equestrian style. Anything that breaks the norm…that’s my favorite!

I also love mirrors in kitchens, but that’s another post for another day. For now, here are some of my favorite spaces that feature fine art in unexpected places!

Styling perfection, but what do you expect from Victoria Pearson? So lovely.

I love the art placed on the open shelves creating a layered look.

An informal trio of similar pieces of artwork makes for a beautiful kitchen gallery.

The gallery lighting above the art is so dramatic and perfect for the space.

Simply setting a piece of small artwork on the counter adds instant beauty. Designed by Kara Rosenlund who actually has beautiful artwork available on her website!

  1. I have yet to notice the trend of fine art in kitchens but I fully understand the appeal. It makes the kitchen look elegant, classy, and regal. I’m also a fan of mirrors in kitchens, I used to have a mirror as the backdrop to my stove, it was awesome and I got a great arm workout since I had to clean it after every meal. lol

    1. Haha! I never thought about the cleaning – isn’t that how it always goes? I think a mirror behind the stove is such a beautiful idea!!

  2. What could be better than a picture of Charles Haddon Spurgeon, the prince of preachers, in the kitchen! His sermons and writings are certainly food for thought! Now I have his picture in my new kitchen! Thanks for the idea!

  3. When choosing a home decor store, I always read vidaXL reviews . This helps me understand how high-quality and stylish the store offers. Some buyers share useful information about delivery times or packaging. But it is important to consider that everyone has different tastes, so for me, not only positive but also neutral reviews are critical to be confident in my choice.
