You don’t need more, you need meaningful.™

Hi, I’m Chloe. I live on a cattle ranch in a town of 99 with my goats, dog, chickens, horses, husband, and cows. I used to live in the city, but I gave it all up for a life in the country.

I write about country living with a modern twist. I hope to inspire you to simplify your life and appreciate each and every moment.

Thanks so much for stopping by, let’s stay in touch!

I didn’t mean to, but I think I dressed up as th I didn’t mean to, but I think I dressed up as the farmer emoji. 👩🏼‍🌾😆

Can you guess what I have in my pocket? 😉 Any other ✨official treat ladies✨ out there know: it’s a v important title. And everyone is certainly happy for me to be home!

Things have come alive since I’ve been gone, and by alive I mean the garden has been taken over by weeds. 😆 We have our work cut out for us, luckily I know a few friends who are happy to help in that department ☝️🐐.

So begins the garden season of 2023, put your bets in now: will we or won’t we have carrots? We are all hoping for the former.

Ya know, gardening is really a lot like a DIY project, why buy it at the store when you can spend 10x more doing it yourself? 😆 It’s a labor of love, worth every battle!
The prettiest villages to visit in the Cotswolds. The prettiest villages to visit in the Cotswolds. ✨

Chipping Campden: A bit larger of a town, and known to be a little fancier, you’ll see gorgeous thatched roofs here as well as amazing artisans! Great for lunch, dinner, or making your home base!

Snowshill: a tiny town that is so quaint and charming, it doesn’t seem real! A pit-stop along your route.

Stow on the Wold: A slightly larger town, great for antiquing! Could easily stay here, with good restaurant options as well!

Bibury: A tiny picturesque village, great for a walkabout. Add this to your driving itinerary, plan for about an hour visit.

Bourton on the Water: This is the largest village in this group, it is an excellent spot to picnic, shop around, and spend the day! With tons of shopping and dining options.

Good wine, good food, good people, and flea market Good wine, good food, good people, and flea market earrings. Not necessarily in that order. ✨

A beautiful night in Florence with a wonderful group of friends celebrating together the magic of life and experience!

I knew that we would have a fun group when I saw the list of those coming on our first trip to Italy, but I was overwhelmed by just how special our time together became. Late night conversations and laughter, I am immensely grateful!

If you’d like to join us next time, the link is in my profile to add your email to the list! 🤍
Le marché, a way of life in Provence!🍒 My fa Le marché, a way of life in Provence!🍒

My favorite marker is in Lourmarin, and quite honestly I don’t care much for the Apt market even though it’s the largest and oldest - it doesn’t have as much charm as some of the smaller towns!

Tip: Some vendors accept cards now, but for the most part - you’ll need cash!

You’ll notice, there are a lot of bric-a-brac type of things to be picked through, but one thing is for certain, the produce is amazing! You’ll only find seasonal items, and while I was there it was cherry, asparagus, and sweet pea season!

Think of the markets like your locals farmer’s market with produce, groceries, and local crafts and goods such as honey, soap, etc…!

One thing that makes French markets all the more special is that is a tradition, everyone attends and it’s simply a standing part of the week. I hope you enjoy and find them to be as exciting as I do!
The poppies of Provence, worth every bit of troubl The poppies of Provence, worth every bit of trouble they’ve caused me. 🤍

〰️

This did teach me some lessons I wanted to share if you’re traveling overseas this summer! This is what I wish I would’ve had…

Keep a spare *debit card at home* and load it onto your phone only. That way if your wallet is stolen, you have a debit card for apple pay that can be used to get cash from an ATM. Keep this at home because you’ll have to cancel your other cards. You’ll need $ and you’ll be happy to have access to it! This won’t work for a credit card, so make sure it’s a debit card.

Many people told me to keep a copy of my passport, and yes this is done for you when you check into your hotel, so not something you really need to worry too much about. Your hotel will be helpful, I also have a digital copy.

Keep your passport in the safe at your hotel. There’s really no reason to carry it with you. I normally don’t, but for some reason on this day, I tossed it in my bag. 😎

Also, keep some cash in your hotel safe too. You will need it to get a new passport if yours is taken. It’s about $150 and they don’t accept digital payments. Thankfully @allison.crawford was kind enough to bring me some cash!! I felt like a scammer DM’ing asking for money 😅. Thanks venmo!

Having cash will be even more helpful if your phone is taken. With a digital wallet, I wasn’t put out too much as everywhere in Europe is contactless. I was able to go to restaurants, Uber, etc… so if you don’t have yours set up before you go, I definitely recommend it!

Think about what you really need to bring with you each day, if your wallet isn’t totally necessary, just bring a card carrier with the necessities, so if something happens, you don’t lose everything! Hope that’s helpful!

You really should know the emergency number whenever you are, luckily Lori was able to get it for me quick. But when something happens you’re a little frazzled, so it’s important. You never think something will happen, until it does!

This was just an opportunity that I put myself in, and it could happen anywhere. I don’t feel any less safe traveling to France by any means, I will just be a bit more careful in the future!
